Mark Davison at the Dell Solutions Summit, Brussels – There were accolades for two South African companies last night when Dell celebrated its EMEA PartnerDirect Awards at a gala dinner hosted by founder, chairman and CEO Michael Dell in Brussels’ Square centre.

About 400 Preferred and Premier partners at the dinner saw Bytes Systems Integration and DG Stores scoop awards for being the company’s top partners in South Africa.

Bytes Systems Integration then went one step further when it collected the prestigious Solution of the Year Award in the security category.

During an earlier keynote, Dell reaffirmed his company’s commitment to the channel.

“Our partners are an integral part of the Dell story, and when they succeed, Dell succeeds,” he says. “We’re investing in our channel partners and growing our businesses together. It’s exciting, but even more so when you consider the opportunities ahead.”

At the awards dinner, Dell recognised six partners with Platinum Awards: Al Hilal Group in Saudi Arabia, Ricoh Sverige AB in Sweden, Computer Arabia in Bahrain, Softcat UK, Yael Integrated Systems from Israel, and Systemax in France.

In the new category of Solutions of the Year alongside Bytes Systems Integration, Belgian company Realdolmen won for its mobility solution and Cloud Solutions CS Oy from Finland won in the cloud category.

Softcat UK was named as Dell’s European Partner of the Year while Al Hilal Group took the same award for MEA.

“We are making ongoing efforts to make it as easy as possible for our partners to do business with Dell and it’s great to see that this is paying off,” says Laurent Binetti, vice-president and GM EMEA channel sales at Dell.

“We look forward to continuing our work with the channel, to ensure that the success and growth that Dell’s PartnerDirect program has experienced over the past few years, continues well into the future.”
