Tecnotree has announced that it has chosen TruTeq Wireless as its premium partner for its “consolidated VAS” (value-added service) offering.

TruTeq Wireless has established itself over the past 14 years as a market leader in the digital messaging space in Africa, with major expansion now taking place into the Pacific Region.

While the so called VAS in-a-box concept has been around for some time, few vendors have been able to produce a truly integrated VAS product set. Therefore, as the competitive landscape turns, the need for rapid deployment of cost effective and profitable VAS services comes into sharp focus. The Consolidated VAS solution is designed to meet this challenge precisely.

By reducing cost and complexity and increasing flexibility and quality, operators will be in a position to roll out innovative and attractive VAS applications rapidly. The Consolidated VAS solution provides major benefits for operators facing end-of-life situations with individual applications and covers the Value Added Services scope for those seeking to modernize their core telecom services platforms.

Tjaart van der Walt, CEO of TruTeq Wireless comments, “The focus for the combined product set will be in the emerging markets where the need is greatest – rolling out affordable but reliable combined voice and messaging services is a priority.”

Commenting further, Van der Walt says: “We are proud to be chosen as a premium partner by Tecnotree. TruTeq is primarily an engineering company that has achieved success largely by word of mouth. Our customers are our partners and regard our innovation and delivery as part of their success.

Working with a global organisation, such as Tecnotree, provides us with a route to market that we could not easily achieve on our own. Our product sets and systems architecture are highly complementary.”

Edwin Bath, sales director of Tecnotree in Africa, says: “Tecnotree’s advanced Call Completion Products consolidated with TruTeq’s Messaging products will enable innovation, operational excellence and time to market across the VAS space.

“We found the ideal partner for our Consolidated VAS solution platform in TruTeq. Its focus on digital messaging services, including USSD, SMS, WAP and MMS is precisely what our customers want to see in a unified product set. We pride ourselves in the quality of our products and solutions. We found a similar mind-set in TruTeq.”

The new Consolidated VAS platform is already available, with first rollouts expected to be completed during the first quarter of 2015.

“This is the first step in what we believe will be a budding relationship which is expected to bring early advantages to operators in Africa and the Pacific region initially,” concludes Van der Walt.
