Leading ICT training solutions provider Torque IT has won the 2013 Best Oracle Approved Education Reseller (OAER) Partners Business Growth Award in South Africa, beating more than 206 other resellers of Oracle products in the country.

This award is based on business growth shown by a reseller of Oracle products. Torque IT posted a 44% year-on-year increase in revenue in the 2013 financial year, the biggest growth among Oracle product resellers in South Africa.

The awards honour companies that discover innovative ways to deploy successful, ground breaking solutions and establish best practices using Oracle technology. Award categories include inter-alia, CIO of the Year, Data Warehouse Leader of the Year, Specialised Partner of the Year- Global and Proactive Support Champion – Global.

Francois Timms, Torque IT’s Oracle Business Unit Manager and trainer, also won an award for Best Database Trainer. This award is given to an individual who demonstrates excellent technical ability and superior knowledge of Oracle Database and Oracle Engineered Systems. The individual is judged on training volumes as well as online customer satisfaction feedback concerning training facilities, location and technical setup.

The customer approval rating for Torque IT averaged above 90%.

“We view these awards as further testimony of our dedication to excellence and our constant efforts to enhance the services we offer to our clients. We aim to deliver the highest quality of service and training available in the Information Technology industry today,” said Timms when receiving the awards last month, presented by Petr Zemanek, the Oracle University Delivery Manager for Africa.

As an approved Oracle Education Reseller, Torque IT is able to resell training, within different classes to provide digital learning media, and enable digital live virtual classes to allow learners to choose and map out how they want to do class.

Oracle has a vast product offering, with over 6 000 product courses within its offering, Torque IT provides training on some of Oracle’s core technologies including databases systems, Solaris operating systems and Java programming systems.

According to Timms, “In today’s technology landscape, there is a requirement for mastery across multiple vendors products and solutions. This is especially true in Africa where one has to almost be a jack of all trades, unlike in Europe and the US where there is traditionally more scope to specialise.

“Where modern technology is concerned, product and solution evolution takes place at a rapid rate and it is critical for organisations to continue to invest in the enablement and certification of their IT teams. This is to ensure that they are skilled, empowered and able to seamlessly implement, support, maintain and troubleshoot the systems that now form the backbone of virtually every company today.

“Torque IT is pleased with the progress that we have made, in partnership with our customers, and these awards validate that we are committed to, and evolve with, our customers technology skills requirements. We are committed to providing clients and students with the top quality, and relevant, training solutions that they demand in order for them to run effective and efficient businesses,” says Timms.
