Veeam Software, innovative provider of backup, replication and virtualisation management solutions for VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V, has expanded its Veeam Cloud Provider (VCP) programme with the addition of Veeam Backup Management Suite.
The Veeam Cloud Provider programme currently has more than 1 500 cloud providers across EMEA. The VCP programme offers flexible monthly and perpetual licensing to meet the needs of hosting, managed service and cloud providers.
Monthly rental by the virtual machine (VM) or perpetual licenses are available from official VCP’s aggregators, while perpetual licenses are available from thousands of Veeam resellers around the world.
According to Jie Zhang, research director at Gartner, “Together, cloud archiving and backup services had estimated revenue of $842,1-million in 2011. Annual growth rates exceeding 40% are projected for 2012 and 2013; the market will continue strong growth beyond 2013 into 2016. The five-year CAGR is forecast at 30.6%, with the total market size reaching $3,2-billion by 2016.”
The VCP programme enables service providers to excel in this market with maximum differentiation and margin opportunity. With the VCP program, service providers can expect to:
* Realise more revenue by offering a larger array of data protection and management services;
* Raise customer satisfaction with stronger data protection and faster response time when data needs to be recovered; and
* Increase administrator productivity and mitigate daily management risks.
Zhang goes on to write, “Many established storage vendors have already started delivering their on-premises archiving or backup software via the cloud. Many more new entrants – pure cloud services providers – are seizing this opportunity as well.
“These smaller vendors are competing aggressively by taking advantage of the nascent state of the market. Their agility in adapting to new and changing business requirements puts them in a good position to compete.”
Veeam Backup Management Suite combines Veeam Backup & Replication and Veeam ONE in a single, integrated data protection and infrastructure management solution for VMware and Hyper-V that is powerful, easy-to-use and affordable. The suite is available now to VCPs as a per VM monthly rental and as a perpetual license in blocks of 10 virtual machines.
“Data protection is quickly expanding to the cloud, which provides a convenient and cost-effective platform for offsite backups and disaster recovery. At the same time hosting companies today are driven by the need of productivity increase, cost control and improved level of services,” says Gilles Pommier, EMEA channel director, Veeam Software.
“Veeam is relying on – and enabling – service providers to make our Modern Data Protection solution available in the cloud. Our business has always been about creating partnerships, and our latest expansion of the Veeam Cloud Provider programme is another example of how we strengthen those relationships by better meeting the needs of our partners.”
