Web Africa has reduced the cost of its capped ADSL offering, starting at R39.00 per month for 10Gb.

“This isn’t a short-term promotional exercise.” says Web Africa CEO Tim Wyatt-Gunning. “These price reductions are so deep that we believe they will convince many consumers and businesses, who previously felt it was simply too expensive, to switch to ADSL.

Each rand now buys between two and three times more data than before thereby allowing users to start using the internet to its full potential as an affordable alternative to data-hungry applications such as TV, DVDs, CDs and photos.”

The lowest Home Capped Package starts at R39 per month but offers a monthly total of 10Gb (5Gb of Any-Time and 5Gb of Night-Time bandwidth). “That’s enough data to stream video for 45 hours, Skype for 40 hours or download 20 episodes of your favourite sitcom,” says Wyatt-Gunning.

From 200Gb up, the price per Gb drops to R1.50 for those making use of Night-Time Gbs, or R3.00 for Any-Time bandwidth.

Business users will also benefit from the restructuring, but will continue to pay a premium for the kind of additional services and privileges. Capped Business ADSL prices will start at R4.50 per Gigabyte – or half that if Night-Time Gigabytes are used.
