It is believed that Symantec may follow in HP’s footsteps by splitting into two companies.
According to reports today, the company is in advanced talks to split into two, with one company selling security products and the other handling the data storage offerings.
Symantec has seen revenues decline in recent months, with anti-virus software in particular taking a knock.
Although the company has previously declined to split up, the new interim CEO Michael Brown is believed to be in favour of such a move.
The separated companies could become acquisition targets.
