Orange, in partnership with Nashua Mobile, is now offering services for those travelling to the UK and the Ivory Coast.

This follows a previous announcement in June 2013, in which Orange launched a partnership with Nashua Mobile to offer such services for travellers to and from Botswana and France, and the establishment of Orange corners within select Nashua Mobile stores.

Sébastien Crozier, CEO of Orange Horizons, explains: “It is important for travellers to be able to communicate with friends, family and business associates while travelling, however the high costs associated with global roaming call and data services puts a damper on the joy and excitement of travelling.

“Orange offers travellers the option to do so at local rates, therefore avoiding the high roaming costs associated with travelling abroad. We make it even easier by offering them locally, so customers can purchase the products before going to their destination so that they know the number that will be in use.”

Nashua Mobile CEO Mark Taylor says: “The Orange UK products will enable our customers to save time and money when they visit one of the most popular international tourism and business destinations for South Africans. The Orange Ivory Coast services, meanwhile, will help South Africans doing business in Africa to manage their costs more effectively while also allowing visitors and expatriates from Ivory Coast to be serviced in South Africa.”

Orange offers South African travellers an Orange UK SIM card, already loaded with either £10 or £30 credit. Once you have loaded the SIM card into a phone, you will then need to choose the best prepaid plan depending on their needs while abroad. The £10 credit SIM card is priced at R200 plus a R40 transaction fee ; the £30 credit SIM card is available for R550 plus a R110 transaction fee.

For travellers going to Côte d’Ivoire, a prepaid SIM card is available at R11 plus a R5 transaction fee. This SIM card will be pre-loaded with 500F. Also available is a 5000F scratch card, at R110 plus a R25 transaction fee.

Orange also offers a 3G+ dongle, which plugs into a device’s USB port, providing a high-speed Internet connection. It is priced at R320 excluding a R65 transaction fee, and includes 5GB of data.
